Show QuickTime Codecs in Finder
Certain QuickTime codecs installed on your system can create serious problems for Final Cut Pro. On-screen controls can go missing, errors and crashes can occur during rendering. Please follow these instructions to locate the folders where QuickTime codecs are installed, and clean them up:
1) Launch the FxFactory application
2) Select the "Show QuickTime Codecs in Finder" command under the "Actions" menu:

3) The Finder will open one or more "QuickTime" folders. If you find any of the following codecs, please delete them:
AC3MovieImport.component
Perian.component
XiphQT.component
4) Restart Final Cut Pro.
