Manual Installation of a Whisper model for Transcriber

The following document will guide you through manual installation of a Whisper model to enable Transcriber to perform automatic transcriptions.

These instructions should be helpful if your Mac has persistent connection problems, preventing it from downloading the model through the Transcriber app.

• Download the large Whisper model from this location:

https://download.ulti.media/UMWhisper/ggml-large.bin

• Switch to the Finder

• Select the Home command under the Go menu to open a new window into your Home folder:

  

• Select the Show View Options command under the View menu. This command will only be available if the Home folder is your topmost (active) window:

• Enable the Show Library Folder option:

  

• The Library folder should now be visible in the Finder:

  

• Starting from the Library folder, navigate to the following nested location:

Library > Application  Support > Ulti.Media Helper Apps > OpenAI Whisper > models

If necessary, create the folder structure as displayed above. Copy the ggml-largebin file under the models folder.
