Disable Background Rendering in Final Cut Pro
Background rendering allows Final Cut Pro to begin rendering clips on your timeline automatically. Disabling background rendering can allow for a more responsive user interface and reduce problems that occur.
Launch Final Cut Pro
From the Final Cut Pro menu select "Preferences..."
In the Playback section, disable "Background render"
Close the Preferences window
